Be treated like royalty in some of India’s most spectacularly located heritage hotels while you share the exhilaration of seeing tigers and leopards in the jungles and forests of Rajasthan.
We meet in Delhi, India’s capital and the travel hub of northern India. It is the perfect start for our tour. Delhi’s greatest historic buildings include some of the best Mughal architecture; they combine Persian and eastern styles into beautiful buildings of distinctive character and fine crafted ornamentation. As we explore Delhi we will taste and smell the wonderful foods and aromas of the city.

We visit Karauli’s rich monuments and temples and stay in the magnificent hilltop hotel of the Ramathra Fort. We take a lake safari searching for crocodile and their dens and admire the rich bird life.

At Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, we take a spectacular jungle safari to see tigers. This is one of India’s most important wildlife hotspots—here we might see a tiger hunting, right before our eyes. Jungle safaris are conducted in specialised safari vehicles accompanied by a nature expert who can help us to find the elusive tigers in the jungle.

We travel to Bhainsrorgarh Fort which dramatically dominates the landscape between the Chambal and Bamani Rivers. Your first glimpse of the fort will take your breath away and the hotel hospitality may do the same: the royal family-in-residence welcomes you to your royal suite and provides the most beautifully laid out gourmet meals in the evenings. From Bhainsrorgarh we visit the thousand-year-old Badoli temples and gardens, take a boat trip to lunch on a river island and go for a sunset safari.

We stay in the fortified walls of the magnificent 16th century Bijaipur Castle converted to a hotel in 1991 by its historic owners, who treat visitors as special guests in their home and tantalise them with the secret, traditional, and highly flavoured foods of the region. Here we take a horse safari into the fascinating Mewar countryside and jungle.

We stay at the heritage Castle Bera the base for taking a leopard safari in the local forests where the richness of the wildlife is heard all around you. We also visit the impressive Jawai River and Dam rich in wildlife.
In our final days we experience Udaipur from the luxurious Hotel Leela Palace with its majestic location on Lake Pichola with spectacular views of the Aravalli Mountains. We say farewell to Northern India amid the glorious lake and mountain setting.

After breakfast depart for morning tour of Delhi visiting Raj Ghat, the National Memorial of the father of the Nation, Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk.
Also drive past President`s House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings and , India Gate (War Memorial Arch ).
Later visit the Humayun`s Tomb.

Proceed to Karauli.
This destination is renowned for its red-stone architecture, its historically rich monuments and its temples. Far, far away, on a hilltop, you can enjoy purely indulgent living amidst the hauntingly silent ruins of the 350-year-old Ramathra Fort.
Arrive Karauli and check into Ramathra Fort.

A two to three seater boat equipped with paddles and life-vests takes you into the stillness of the lake. You can watch birds, search for crocodile dens and possible crocodile sightings. Bring your binoculars and your telephoto lens.

Proceed by surface to Ranthambhore.
As you enter Sawai Madhopur, the gateway to the park, you are greeted by a distinctive destination. Offering a unique potpourri of heritage, flora and fauna, this renowned wildlife sanctuary is one of the few wildlife hotspots where you stand the chance of seeing a tiger hunting right under your nose!
Arrive Ranthambhore and check into Hotel Khem Villas.

Early Morning, depart for morning jungle safari. Jungle safaris conducted by Special Jungle Safari Vehicles
accompanied by a naturalist. It’s cold in the mornings and advisable to take head covers and light woolens along.

Check into your royal suites of a fort run by the erstwhile royal family.
After relaxing proceed on a short drive to the thousand year old Badoli temples surrounded by gardens.

Proceed for short excursion by boat to a river island with lunch at the island.
In the evening go for a Sunset Safari. The drive that takes you over half an hour from the fort finally ends near the village of Balapura that rests by the edge of a reservoir. Ideally timed before sunset, tea and snacks are organized for guests while they take in the beauty and tranquility of a sunset in the countryside.

Morning breakfast and proceed by surface to Bijaipur.
Arrive Bijaipur and check into Castle Bijaipur.
Proceed for a horse safari. These safaris offer a rare glimpse into the rich and colourful essence of wild life and rural Mewar. The great landscape is quite fascinating as you ride your way through the countryside and jungle.
A relaxed dinner. It’s also your chance to taste some of the secret, traditional, mouthwatering recipes of the royal family, in attendance.

Proceed by surface to Bera.
Arrive Bera and check into Castle Bera.
Proceed for trek towards Jawai river and dam. You might catch some crocodiles napping.

One is sure to sight Leopards, Bluebull, Crocodile, Hyena, Pelican, Greylag Goose, Robin Accentor, Demoiselle Crane, Barheaded Goose, Indian Partridge etc. in their natural habitat.
